Performing for the King

Charles I’s elaborate Royal Masques were the focus of this temporary exhibition at the Banqueting House, the only surviving part of the original Palace of Whitehall where they were once performed. Traditional drawn animation which brought Inigo Jones’ dramatic and revolutionary stage machinery to life in a ‘behind the scenes’ montage was incorporated into a film projection that formed the backdrop to live performances. Northover&Brown also produced the graphic design for this exhibition.
